Enable iDeal payment method in Shopify using SSCheckout
1.What is ideal?
- iDEAL is a popular online payment system in the Netherlands, european countries which allows customers to make purchases and payments directly from their bank account. It was introduced in 2005 and is widely used for e-commerce transactions in the Netherlands
- With iDeal, customers can make payments for online purchases without the need for a credit card. Instead, they use their online banking credentials to authorize the payment directly from their bank account. The system is supported by many Dutch banks, including ABN AMRO, ING, Rabobank, and SNS Bank.
- iDeal is a secure and reliable payment method, as it uses strong encryption and authentication mechanisms to protect customer data and prevent fraud. It is also a convenient payment option for customers, as they can complete transactions quickly and easily without the need for additional payment processing steps.
2. IDeal only works with European customers?
- iDeal is currently only available for customers who have a Dutch bank account, or who bank with a European financial institution that participates in the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) program. This means that customers outside of Europe do not have access to iDeal as a payment option.
- However, many e-commerce websites that accept payments through iDeal also offer alternative payment methods, such as credit cards or PayPal, to accommodate customers from other regions.
3. How you can accept iDeal on Shopify using SSCheckout?
To accept iDeal payments on Shopify using the SSCheckout app, you can follow these steps:
- Install the SSCheckout app on your Shopify store from the Shopify app store.
- After installing the app, navigate to the app dashboard and select the “Payment Methods” tab.
- Locate the “iDeal” payment option and click the toggle button to enable it.
- Enter your iDeal account details, such as your merchant ID and secret key, in the fields provided.
- Once you have entered your iDeal account details, click the “Save” button to apply the changes.
- Test the payment integration by placing a test order on your Shopify store using iDeal as the payment method.
Once you have completed these steps, your customers should be able to select iDeal as a payment option during the checkout pr ocess on your Shopify store. When they choose iDeal, they will be redirected to the iDeal payment gateway to complete the transaction.
4. How to enable iDeal in SSCheckout App?
Ensure that you have an iDeal account and it is set up correctly to process payments.
Log in to the SSCheckout App account, go to the "Payments" section, and add iDeal as a payment method by entering your iDeal account details.
Test the checkout process by making a small purchase using iDeal as the payment method to ensure that it is working correctly.
